G’day to all! Sorry, I’ve been a bit slack on blog duty lately. Still a bit under the weather at times, also got several orders to get done and a last minute rush job with a necklace and earring set for my sister-in-law to match her dress that she was wearing to her work party. The beads I made (first off) came out of the kiln on Thursday morning and several were cracked – the combination of gold filled pink glass I used, along with silver wire and clear encasing didn’t play well together! Groan….I had an inkling that they might not be friends but it was the shade of pink that I needed. So then I went back to the torch on Thursday morning ( she wanted the jewellery by Friday – nothing like “last minute” to put a bomb under a person! lol) and experimented with enamels until I got the right shade – did a couple of extra sets (just to allow for an “mishaps” – no time to do any MORE beads after this!) used a different type of clear glass and tweaked my annealing schedule – which worked well. Anyway, all’s well that ends well. I got the set done. just in time for pickup. The beads looked lovely and the earrings were gorgeous – she will certainly stand out with this pair of shoulder dusters! Bad news – I never got to take a piccy ‘cos I was in the process of finishing them just as she turned up, but maybe I can ask her to bring them back so I can take a quick happy snap. Boy, I must be the world’s worst photographer! I always forget to take the photo!!!
Anyway….will try very hard to have something to blog about shortly…Keep well everyone – catch you soon!
Cheers

G’Day to all! Just thought I’d pop a few pics of some new stuff up on the website. A few hollow lampworked beads, wired up with sterling silver etc – quite pretty and very tactile with the raised stringer work. A couple of beautiful sterling silver necklaces – one with semi precious purple agate gemstones and one with my own lampwork beads – very reasonably priced! And one budget priced base metal silver plated necklace with a very pretty lampwork bead! Check them out! What do you think? You can find them on my Website, Etsy or Artfire……just click on the links.
Have a great weekend!!
Cheers
Sandy

Just uploaded a couple of new necklaces – Hollow beads this time – and also a few new beads. I don’t know what’s up with the internet today but it’s as slow as a dead horse this end (no disrespect intended to dead horses…). Anyway – I hope you like them and as usual you can find them on my website link or Etsy or Artfire…… By the way, “Ice Maiden” (below) really does change colour in different light!
